Red Lake Nation Seeking Teaching Artists

Dear Artist,

The Red Lake Nation is seeking local and regional artists to teach visual arts workshops/classes for youth.

Art, music, and dance camps will take place in the four community centers of the Red Lake Reservation over several weeks during the summer of 2027. Visual arts offerings might include illustration, painting, printmaking, sculpture, clay, beading, and more. Exact dates, activities, and instructor compensation to be determined, but we want your input NOW. Please reply to this email soon if you are interested in spending some time in Red Lake sharing your craft.

This activity will be offered free of charge to Red Lake youth and made possible in part through grant funding and donations. The Red Lake Nation seeks to reduce barriers for youth and their families who want to experience the wonders and possibilities of artistic expression.

Feel free to propose any activity catering to any age group from 6 to 18. Teaching artists may offer a particular workshop or a series of classes. Proposals may include artistic medium, preferred age group, workshop theme ideas, and any compensation requirements. Preliminary email inquiries are welcome.

Please email your questions, proposals, and comments here. And if you are an administrator of an arts organization, please forward this message to any teaching artists connected with your organization, or consider partnering with us in this worthwhile endeavor.

Miigwech,
