“I attended the WritingXWriters Retreat in September 2023 and had the absolute privilege to learn from two amazing writers and fantastic people, Luis Alberto Urrea and Pam Houston. The retreat schedule was an intense blend of outdoor physical activities and workshops in which we used our beautiful surroundings as collected “glimmers” to inspire and prompt our writing exercises. We also had ample time to ask our instructors questions and soak up their knowledge as renowned working writers.

It was a breathtaking experience and, over the months since, I have worked on several of the pieces that began as short exercises in classes. Phrases and images come back to me when I least expect it and I know I will carry the knowledge and inspiration I gathered into my future writing projects.
