Students will work along with Pamela Edevold while she demonstrates how to use Golden Open Acrylics and Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils together to create a colorful but natural looking portrait of a subject in highly detailed regalia. Several layers will be laid down over a tracing of the image, going back and forth with the two mediums until the desired look is achieved.
The class may also work from their own images when finished with each step of the workshop portrait. They may work from a photo, a good photocopy, or from a phone or ipad, but it must be of a person and in color.
Black watercolor paper and Golden Open Acrylics will be supplied by the instructor, but if the student already owns the paint they are asked to bring it. The class will be required to supply their own Prismacolor Premier colored pencils.
This activity is made possible by grants through the Region 2 Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
