Artist Talk: May 2nd @ 11am.

When you’re young, you just create with your heart. Putting marks on paper didn’t have to be beautiful or skillfully done. It was just a nice release of energy and imagination. I loved drawing and painting with markers, cheap paints, and any old paper.

I spent my adulthood as a graphic designer, creating solely on the computer and loved it but lost that kid spirit! Sometimes my mind works against my heart convincing me I’m not good enough to be an artist and there are long pauses when I don’t create. But I’m happier when my heart tells my mind to just shut up and paint! Watercolor suits my judgemental self. It makes me loosen up and just have fun with the flow of vibrant colors.

Creative expression can smooth out the knots and tangles of life’s curves. Art is so healing whether creating it or viewing it. It lights up my soul and I am grateful for the joy.
