R2Arts Celebration of Fellows Potluck

  • City Park Bemidji MN (map)

Who wants to get together and enjoy a nice meal this spring? Well R2Arts is going to be hosting the Second Annual Celebration of Fellows this May on May 14th at Bemidji City Park!!!!

Join us for the second annual R2Arts Celebration of Fellows potluck and gathering as we celebrate this year's fellows! This year is special as we welcome TWO new Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Fellows, Cindy Hamilton and Lavender Kingbird! We also welcome our R2Arts Fellows, Jason Ewert and Duane Goodwin!

Cindy is a talented Ojibwe artist hailing from Treaty 3 with a rich cultural heritage that encompasses both European and First Nations ancestry, including Metis roots. Lavender is a fashion designer, original jingle dress dancer, and cultural artist whose work centers on indigenous knowledge, healing, and artistic expression. Jason is a filmmaker and designer from Bemidji, Minnesota. His work spans both documentary and narrative film, often exploring haunting themes of memory, identity, and place. Duane is a renowned sculptor, the winner of many awards throughout the country. Duane is a sculptor who believes creating art needs to be nurtured with a passion; as it provides an outlet for thought and compassion.

Interested in hearing more about these artists or speaking to them yourself? Come to the potluck! Come and go as you please, meet those in your community and celebrate our fellows! All are welcome. R2 will provide food but all are encouraged to bring a potluck style dish to share. We will be there, rain or shine, to enjoy the space, the weather, and everyone’s company!

Don't forget, that's May 14th, 4pm City Park, Bemidji MN!!
