Nikki Besser is self-taught in the art of paper quilling. Besser, a Minnesota artist, uses thousands of strips of paper that are rolled or folded, glued and shaped meticulously together to create original artworks.

The exhibition Portrayals in Paper will be on display at Talley Gallery from January 17 to February 20. A closing reception, featuring an artist talk at 2 p.m., will take place on February 20 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Talley Gallery, located in the basement of the Bridgeman building at Bemidji State University, is wheelchair accessible and open to the public free of charge.
