Artist Statement:

I am a semi retired Special Education Teacher and Landscape Designer. I have found great satisfaction in creating artwork that combines my personal experience with the organic forms and colors I have found in nature. As a self taught artist I push myself to my creative limits and approach my paintings with experimental enthusiasm. My primary medium “alcohol ink” gives me the freedom to create layers of ink and color often with unexpectef results. To achieve a textured apprearance, I may add additional mediums such as oils and acrylics on Yupo paper, glass, wood, plastic, and fabric. My hope is that my artwork is viewed with an open mind and that the viewer’s inner self recognized and appreciates the essence of a landscape, a colorful garden, or a delicate flower.
