(June 18th, June 25th, July 2nd, July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd, July 30th) This creative series of works is hosted by Samantha Fairbanks, and will be geared towards youth aged 10-17 and will feature artworks depicted of the Seven Grandfather Teachings in the Ojibwe culture. These teachings are Humility – Dbaadendiziwin, Bravery – Aakw’ode’ewin, Honesty – Gwekwaadiziwin, Wisdom – Nbwaakaawin, Truth – Debwewin, Respect – Mnaadendimowin, and Love – Zaagidiwin. No registration is required for this event, but participants are encouraged to attend all seven of these painting sessions. Those who attend six of the seven sessions will be given a prize! This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through an Artists Engage Community Grant from Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
