Exploring Fine Art Photography with Jessica Stolen

  • The YES! House Granite Falls MN (map)

Join us this Wednesday, June 4 from 6 – 8 PM for a creative and immersive photography experience at beautiful Memorial Park! Exploring Fine Art Photography is a hands-on workshop hosted by local photographer, Jessica Stolen, designed for photographers of all levels who are looking to expand their skills in stylized portraiture and outdoor shooting techniques.

We’ll begin in the shelter house with a session on costuming basics, where you'll learn expert tips and tricks for makeup, wardrobe styling, and character creation—all with the help of live models. Whether you’re photographing fantasy, historical, or conceptual portraits, you’ll gain insight into how to bring your artistic vision to life.

Afterward, we’ll head out onto the park trails to practice model posing and group shooting techniques in natural light. We’ll also explore the creative use of natural elements and special effects—and weather permitting, we’ll even experiment with smoke bombs to add dramatic flair to your shots.

This class also includes a helpful overview of camera settings and functions specifically tailored for outdoor environments.

Each participant will receive a take-home guide covering costuming and makeup basics to continue exploring fine art photography on their own.

Bring your camera or camera phone, your curiosity, and your creativity—we can’t wait to see what you capture!

Registration is $20 per person and you can register here → yeshouse.tiny.us/JSPhotography
