About The Class
In this class we will learn incredible knots that can save your life, make your life a lot easier, and are fun to make! We will learn by making a rope ladder that everyone can take home with them. Additionally we will learn about the history of these knots, and build community while we're at it. Registration is required ahead of time for buying materials. Scholarships are available if cost is a barrier, please not your interest in the access needs question below. Questions? About Eiko Mizushima (She/They)
Eiko Mizushima is an artist, occupational therapist (OT), mental health practitioner(MHP), somatic experiencing practitioner (SE), massage therapist (LMT), ecologist, and tree climber. Her work explores the liminal space between the art and science of the natural world. Eiko majored in biology with a minor in environmental studies at Macalester College. She holds a master’s degree in OT from Saint Catherine University where she focused on mental health. Eiko runs their healing practice out of Sabathani Community Center. Eiko Mizushima is a fiscal year 2026 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Cancellations 14 days ahead of time can be fully reimbursed. Cancellations less than 14 days cannot be refunded unless your spot can be filled from the waitlist.
String Theory is two separate courses to teach people how to make life changing knots. One series of classes will be in Minneapolis, MN and a separate one-off class will be in Bemidji, MN.
