Camp fee of $185, ages 13-18. Headwaters Youth Pottery Wheel Camp: a Spin into Summer Creativity! This immersive seven-session day camp is tailored for creative teens aged 13-18 who are eager to delve into the captivating world of wheel throwing. Led by the experienced and inspiring pottery instructor, Tom Daly, this camp promises an enriching exploration of the art of clay. Participants will roll up their sleeves and dive into the fascinating process of wheel throwing. Under the guidance of Tom Daly, they will learn the nuances of this ancient art form and discover the secrets to creating unique and functional pieces. From the basics of throwing to advanced design and sculptural techniques, this camp covers it all. Teens will unlock their creativity as they experiment with diverse approaches to shape and form, turning their visions into tangible works of art. Uncover the magic of glazing as participants explore different techniques to add the perfect finishing touch to their creations. The additional meetups in July will provide the opportunity to glaze their fired bisque ware under expert supervision. The camp will conclude with an ice cream social where participants can showcase their finished, wheel-thrown vessels.
