Region 2 Arts Council is one of 11 Regional Arts Councils in the state of Minnesota. We serve Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen counties. Our grants for Indigenous Artists also reach into counties (Becker, Cass, Itasca, Roseau) that are part of the surrounding tribal nations of Red Lake, Leech Lake and White Earth.

Each arts council is charged with providing grants, services, and other opportunities that support artists or culture bearers and nonprofit organizations to make arts and cultural contributions that impact our lives. We support a broad range of artistic and cultural activities such as music/theater/dance performances, arts festivals, public arts projects such as murals or sculptures, cultural and arts workshops in things like basketry, painting with watercolors, beading, filmmaking, drawing with colored pencils, regalia making, writing plays, and more. We receive funds from the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment, the State General Fund, and the McKnight Foundation to do this work.

These survey results help drive our decisions for 2025 & 2026. Community input is critical to setting priorities for the coming years.
