More Arts Workshops!

We have arts workshop funds set aside that we’d love to share!

October has been a truly inspiring month for art in Region 2. Now’s the time to apply for No Risk Workshop funds through Region 2 Arts Council so you can share your arts discipline with others.

As the workshop presenter,  these funds can help your workshop rates be affordable to participants and ensure you get paid what your time and talent is worth!  You can also fill out a No-Risk workshop application to bring an artist to our region.  The focus of the arts workshop must be on adult learning and must be open to the public.

The application process is on-going & painless.  Click here for an application.  We want more arts workshops in Region 2!

Fall 2012 Writers’ Retreat: Healing the Psyche through Writing

Sign up today for a Fall Writer’s Retreat with Dr. Carol Ann Russell, poet and professor, and Reverend Eric Hucke.

This retreat will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 9:00am-4:00pm at the Headwaters School of Music and the Arts, 519 Minnesota Ave. NW, Bemidji, MN. Cost is $60.  Please call HSMA at 218-444-5606 to register.

Description:

As writers, teachers, artists, and thinkers, we can evoke eternal patterns, “archetypes”, whose ancient stories and dramatic roles help to open new territories for our imagination which, formerly, may have been unconscious to us.

Writing exercises will be given which will stimulate the connection between conscious memory and the transcendent, which can assist in “making whole” (i.e., healing) areas of the psyche from which creative power comes.

The Retreat offers a quiet space to which you may withdraw for rejuvenation and inspiration. Innovative and creative opportunities for writers will comprise most of the retreat, along with chances to share ideas and insights.

This activity is funded, in part, by a Region 2 Arts Council “No-Risk” workshop grant.
