The Minnesota State Arts Board (MSAB) held its annual meeting in Bemidji on July 10 & 11, 2019. Region 2 Arts Council Board Members, Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Council members, regional arts leadership, local artists, the arts interested public, and community leaders from throughout our five-county region spoke eloquently about the value of the arts in speeches, presentations, and round table discussions. Watermark Art Center and Headwaters Music & Arts hosted sections of the meeting, Anton Treuer engaged us in thoughtful discussion, and Al Belleveau led Arts Board members on a lively tour of the Bemidji Sculpture Walk.
