Opening Reception tonight at the Miikanan Gallery from 5:00-7:00 pm
Mazinigwaaso She Stitches Fancy will be showing in the Miikanan Gallery in the Watermark Art Center from tonight, Nov. 9th, through Dec. 23rd. This group show features both of our AAI Fellows, Robyn Vanwert and Pamela Iceman, as well as the work of Cari Tabor. It is an incredibly beautiful show – don’t miss it!

Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Exhibit travels from Mahnomen to Bemidji
Our offices will also be open tonight, Nov. 9th, from 5-7 pm, featuring the Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Exhibit. This exhibit will be open whenever our office is open, M-F 9am-5pm, but it is only here until December 8th! If you missed the opening reception at Gizhiigin, you can come to our Closing Reception on December 8, 10:00 am-4:00 pm. There will be food and fabulous art – what could be better?

Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Council Meeting and Grant Review rescheduled
The Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Council will convene on Wednesday December 12th at 5:30 pm to conduct business and review and award Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Grants one week later than the originally scheduled December 5th meeting. This meeting is open to the public, in accordance with the guidelines of Minnesota’s Open Meeting Law, and will be held at the Watermark Art Center, 505 Bemidji Ave. N., Bemidji 56601, in the education studio across the hall from our offices.

Cultural Traditions in the Arts Grant deadline extended to December 15
Cultural Traditions in the Arts Grant applications were originally due on November 15, 2018, but because we were late getting the grant open for online applications we have decided to give applicants a whole extra month to apply!
