June 14 – Forecast for Public Art: Best Practice in Public Art

This workshop is appropriate for all who are interested in public art: visual and performing artists, city planners, business owners, nonprofit leaders, arts organizers.

June 18 – Cal Rice: Photographing for Portrait Painting
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a lunch break and light snacks provided
At Red Door Studio, 420 North Main Ave. in Baudette
It is in the same building as the Northern Light Region newspaper and J&L Accounting Service (next to CafeX and across from the Grand Theatre). The studio entrance is from the alley on the backside of this building.
Studio Portraiture – How to create images in the style of the Old Masters through poses and lighting. Environmental Portraiture – How to pose people in the environment with an emphasis on the total image and lighting issues.

June 25 – Lake Region Artist Resource Fair in Fergus Falls
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Saturday
Region 2 Arts Council will cover the cost of 15 artists, residing in Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Mahnomen, or Lake of the Woods Counties, who are interested in attending the all-day Artist Resource Fair at M-State Fergus Falls Campus on Saturday, June 25. More than 20 statewide and regional arts funders and arts resource providers will be offering workshops and sharing information on resources available to Minnesota Artists. Attending the resource fair will be free to the first 15 Region 2 registrants, and will cost $15.00 for anyone beyond that to cover the cost of the catered lunch. Be the first in your county to get a group of artists together (3 or more) and R2AC will cover mileage for your carpool to travel round trip to Fergus Falls.
