Poetry Slam #1 Tuesday Nov 27 in Bemidji

WHERE: Keg ‘n’ Cork, 310 Beltrami Ave NW, Bemidji

WHEN: Tuesday November 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

WHAT: A competition open to all poets.  Contestants should prepare three (3) readings (in case they make it all the way to the third round) of ORIGINAL poetry in any style, each reading is limited to three minutes or less.  Five judges will score each poet on a 1-10 scale, weighted 50% on content and 50% on the performance of the work.

WHO:  Audience is open to everyone who enjoys good poetry.  There’s space available for readers, please pre-register at the Bemidji Public Library or call 751-3963.  Poets can also sign up at the event starting at 6:30 pm, provided there is still space available.

PRIZE: $75-$50-$25 for the top three finalists in the last round. This is the first event in the 2012/13 Poetry Slam series.
