No-Risk Workshop Funding Available

Duane Shoup’s workshop “Build a Solid Oak Butterfly Bench” 2012

This past year, Region 2 Arts Council provided funding to support a colorful array of workshops that celebrated the arts in many different ways.

Photography for Artists, Puppetry 101, Tapestry and Free Form Knotting, Painting to Praxis, Build a Solid Oak Butterfly Bench, Dreams as Portals for Creative Energy: a Winter Writers Retreat, Acrylic Painting the Abstract Experience for Beginners, Beginning Telemark Rosemaling, and Bead Mosaic and Cavandoli Knotting brought clusters of artists and arts enthusiasts together to write, paint, build, knot, photograph, and create.

Offering and participating in an arts workshop is a wonderful way to contribute to and create community.  If you are an artist living in the five counties of Region 2 with a talent to share, or an arts enthusiast wanting to bring some new talent to our region in the form of a workshop, you can either download and fill out a No Risk Workshop form, or email staff@r2arts.org or call 751-5447 / 800 275-5447 and share your workshop ideas.  We also have forms in our office at  426 Bemidji Ave N. in Bemidji.

Looking back at last year, it was a great year for arts workshops in Region 2. Thank you to all of the artists and workshop participants for enriching our region with your talent and creativity. Looking ahead, let’s make it a year for the arts that rivals last; no-risk workshops are one way to do just that!
