Thanks to Margaret Burger of Fortuna Puppet Theater, both youth and adults in Region 2 are experiencing the world of puppetry, from puppet making to puppet manipulation.
Puppeteer Margaret Burger has brought the art of puppetry to the Boys and Girls Club of the Bemidji area, First Fridays at the Bemidji Community Art Center’s Freaxis Studios, ARTCAMP week at Headwaters School of Music and the Arts, and to area adults participating in puppet making and manipulation classes at Burger’s studio.
Last fall, Burger received funding through a Region 2 Arts Council Individual Artist Grant to mentor in puppetry with Sandy Spieler of In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre in Minneapolis.
