Calling all artists with studios within a 40 mile radius of Bemidji, Minnesota, applications are now being taken for the Bemidji – First City of Arts Studio Cruise 2012.
This, the Fifth year for the ‘Cruise’, is a working studio event which provides an opportunity for artists to invite the public into their studios to showcase their art and craft. This interaction serves to strengthen the public’s awareness of the creative process while providing the artist an opportunity to learn first hand the public’s perception of their work as well as the potential for direct sales or commissions and to help raise the public’s awareness of the dynamic art scene we are so fortunate to have in the Bemidji Area.
Studio Cruise dates are October 19, 20 and 21 (MEA weekend). Deadline for all applications is postmark by April 15, 2012. Fees include a $10 non-refundable jury fee and $100 artist participation fee.
Interested artists are encouraged to apply by completing the Studio Cruise application available on-line at the Bemidji Community Art Center (BCAC) website http://bcac.wordpress.com/.
Again this year!!! Artists who create their artwork within a 40 mile radius of Bemidji but who may not have a studio accessible to visitors in which to show and demonstrate their process, can apply to be a Guest Artist at a qualifying Host Studio location for the 2012 ‘Cruise’. Please note that ALL artists must successfully meet all jury and monetary qualifications and eligibility requirements established for participating in the Cruise. This opportunity is limited to having a maximum of three artists total at any one studio location.
