Region 2 Arts Council announces two upcoming opportunities for literary artists. The first is a collaborative opportunity for writers currently involved in literary groups. The second is a conference for all writers.
A Literary Collaboration Meeting, April 21 in Wadena
Attention Region 2 literary groups! Please consider sending one representative from your group to a collaboration meeting for literary groups in West Central and Northern MN.
This literary collaboration meeting will take place on April 21 from 10- 3:30 p.m. at the Depot on 100 Aldrich Ave SW in Wadena.
Please come for a time for networking, idea exchange, open mic readings and a prize drawing for one free registration to “The Poetry Conference” May 18-20. There is no fee to attend and lunch is included.

Writers residing in Region 2 Arts Council, Lake Region Arts Council and Five Wings Arts Council will be present at this meeting. Together we can strengthen the literary arts in northern Minnesota!
2nd Annual Writers Conference, April 21 & 28 in Fosston
Writers’ workshops at the 2nd Annual Writers Conference are offered at two levels~$55 each or $90 for both. Registration covers workshop, refreshments and noon meal. Conference Presenter: Jamie Lee, a published, award winning author and creative writing teacher.
The “I Always Wanted to be a Writer” Workshop
Level One – Saturday April 21, 9-4:30
Whether you are just getting started or have been scribbling for a while, this workshop will explore how to generate creative ideas, develop your personal voice, and sharpen your structure and style
Self-Edit Your Way to Success
Level Two – Saturday April 28, 9-4:30
All writers can improve their style by enhancing their self-editing skills. The morning session will introduce fun techniques for both the ear edit and the paper edit, and the afternoon session will focus on self-editing both individually and as a critique group. Participants should bring a sample of their work (3-5 pages) for this session.
