$22,700 for Arts Project Grants Available this Round!

What are you doing this weekend? The Ballet? A play? An art opening? A gourmet meal with friends and family?

Or, filling out an application for an Arts Project Grant, perhaps?  The deadline is Wednesday, March 14.  And you know what that means?  With a whole weekend ahead, there’s still time!

The Region 2 Arts Council (R2AC) invites any arts organization, non-profit organization, school (including community education offices), or unit of government from Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen counties to apply for an Arts Project Grant. Organizations can apply for grants up to $1,500 per project and currently $22,703 in funds are available. That’s enough to fund at least fifteen separate arts projects!

Think big projects, medium projects, even smaller projects!  Funding for 1/2 a project (R2AC grant covers half, you find other sources to cover the other half) is so much better than no funding at all…

Organizations can apply for funding for a variety of art projects including costs related to performances or exhibitions, engagement of guest artists or artists-in-residence, and classes, conferences, workshops, publications, films or other presentations that promote arts awareness.

Region 2 Arts Council staff would be happy to discuss your ideas with you and answer any questions you may have on completing your application. Call 751-5447, toll free at 1-800-275-5447, or e-mail staff@r2arts.org for more information.

There are still applications available at the Region 2 Arts Council Office, 426 Bemidji Avenue, Bemidji or you can download an application from the comfort of wherever you happen to be with your computer.  Happy Grant Writing!
