Headwaters Center for Lifelong Learning presents The Belle of Amherst a one-woman play by William Luce, at the Long Lake Theater in Hubbard, MN. This only performance begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
Rhoda Jackson, a popular local actor, will perform this play exclusively for HCLL in 2011. Based on the life of poet Emily Dickinson from 1830-1886, and set in her Amherst, Massachusetts home, the play makes uses her work, diaries, and letters to recall her encounters with the significant people in her life. Julie Harris performed the play on Broadway in 1976.
