R2AC Offers Free Grant Writing Workshops in Park Rapids, July 7th

Artists and Arts Organizations!  Please come to one or more of the following free grant writing workshops on Thursday, July 7th in the Park Rapids Area Public Library Conference Room, 210 1st Street West, Park Rapids, MN.

Individual Artist Grant/ McKnight Career Development Fellowship            5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Arts and Cultural Heritage Grant                                                                                6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Arts Project Grant/ Community Arts Support Grant                                                    7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

These workshops will familiarize potential applicants with the application process, what projects are eligible, how to develop a project budget and other tips. GRANTS DESCRIPTIONS AND DEADLINES

The Arts and Cultural Heritage grant writing session will be open to artists in all art disciplines, any non-profit organization, school (including community education offices), and units of government. These grants support three key areas: Arts Activities and Arts Access, Education, and Cultural Heritage. Individual artists can apply for grants up to $3,000 and organizations can apply for grants up to $6,000.  GRANT DEADLINE: August 16th, 2011.

The R2AC/McKnight Career Development Fellowship is open to established artists in all disciplines who show a commitment to their career. This 18-month fellowship provides the opportunity for career development experiences that will add depth and advancement to any artistic career. Two $6,000 fellowships will be awarded per year.  GRANT DEADLINE: September 14, 2011.

The Arts Project grant writing session will be open to any non-profit organization, school (including community education offices), and units of government.  These grants offer funding for a variety of art projects including costs related to performances or exhibitions, engagement of guest artists, and artists-in-residence. Organizations can apply for grants up to $1,500.  GRANT DEADLINE: September 14th, 2011.

The Individual Artist grant writing session will be open to artists in all art disciplines.  These grants offer funding for costs associated with the exhibition, performance, or production of a creative work; purchase of materials or equipment necessary for a creative work; educational opportunities; mentorships; and proposals for career-enhancing projects or opportunities. Artists can apply for grants up to $1,000.  GRANT DEADLINE: October 5th, 2011.

The Community Arts Support grant writing session will be open to any arts organizations. These grants are two-year awards that help provide some measure of funding stability for arts organizations so that their energy can be better focused on increasing the quality and availability of the arts to their communities. Arts organizations can apply for grants up to $6,000 depending on the their annual revenues.  GRANT DEADLINE: February 15th, 2012.
