Saturday Coffee Party with Senator Carlson

Dear Members of the Region 2 Arts Community:

Come and let your voice be heard!  Please join us for two events this month to discuss the importance of the arts and arts funding in our region and in our state.

1. Coffee Party Meeting with Senator Carlson (High Priority!)

It is crucial that you come to this coffee party meeting with Senator Carlson to help make a powerful statement about the tangible difference arts funding makes in our lives and in our communities.

Senator Carlson is on both committees that oversee arts funding in Minnesota. Come to this meeting and tell him about the many state and locally funded arts projects and events that have made a difference in Region 2. Your presence at this meeting will serve as testimony to the role the Minnesota State Arts Board and Regional Arts Council system play in promoting the arts and supporting Minnesota artists.

When: February 19th, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Headwaters School of Music and the Arts, 519 Minnesota Avenue NW, Bemidji

2. “Artsy Happy Hour”

Join Sheila Smith, the Executive Director of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, to hear the latest on arts funding and the upcoming legislative session.  Enjoy spending time with members of your community who share an interest in the arts.

When: Wednesday February 16th, 4-5:30 p.m.

Where: The Cabin Coffeehouse, 214 3rd Street NW, Bemidji

We hope to see you at one or both events. These meetings are free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

Please RSVP to staff@r2arts.org or call us at (218) 751-5447 / 1800 275-5447

Every voice is needed; everyone is welcome!
