The Bemidji Boys and Girls Club recently received an Arts and Cultural Heritage Grant from the Region 2 Arts Council. Artist Mary Therese Peterson will work with teens creating 6 batiked and painted screens to be used for stage productions at the Boys and Girls Club. Actor Greg Gasman will conduct 12 weeks of theater classes with teens.
The Arts and Cultural Heritage Grants are a result of the Land and Legacy Amendment passed by Minnesota Voters in November of 2008. These Grants provide funding to projects that create opportunities for arts access, arts education, and bridge cultures through the arts.
