The R2AC is happy to announce upcoming workshops that involve the business side of being a successful artist.  The Work of Art Workshop Series is intended for emerging artists.  The Marketing and Public Relations Workshop is intended for established artists who find themselves “selling” their work and proposals to galleries and other institutions.  Take a moment to read the information below and sign up for these valuable opportunities!

The Work of Art Workshop Series:  Business Skills for Artists

What: The Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists

When: Thursdays, June 3, 10, 17 & 24, 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Where: Bemidji High School

Cost: FREE

Springboard for the Arts, a Saint Paul-based nonprofit whose mission is to cultivate a vibrant arts community by connecting artists with the skills, contacts, information and services they need to make a living and a life, is bringing their 10 session series of workshops to Bemidji! This series is geared for emerging artists. The first 4 sessions will be offered in June.  This 10 part series will cover topics including: Time Management for Creative People, Legal Considerations for Artists, the Artist’s Promotional Toolkit, Funding Your Work, Career Planning for Artists, and Pricing Your Work.  The final 6 sessions will resume in the fall.

Marketing and PR Workshop for Experienced/Mid-Career Artists

Who:  Experienced, Mid-Career Artists

What: Public Relations/Marketing for Artists

When: Saturday, June 19, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Where: Bemidji State University, Crying Wolf Room

Food will be provided.

Cost: FREE

Creative Capital, a non-profit, professional-development organization based in New York whose work is dedicated to helping artists move forward in their careers, will be conducting this FREE workshop dedicated to Public Relations/Marketing artists’ work.  This workshop is geared for mid-career artists.

Attending artists will have the opportunity to watch successful presentations and have one-on-one sessions focused on marketing, presentation and public relations planning.
