Region 2 Arts Council Announces Arts & Cultural Heritage (Legacy) Grants Are Available

The Region 2 Arts Council (R2AC) is pleased to unveil new grant opportunities for artists, arts organizations, nonprofits, schools and local governments. These grants are a result of the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage funds as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008. The passage of the Clean Water, Lands & Legacy Amendment will greatly enhance arts funding for the next 25 years in the State of Minnesota.

R2AC convened listening sessions and needs assessment surveys throughout the region to help determine constituent needs. Based on this input, R2AC Board planning sessions created new programs for the dissemination of these funds.

The four new Arts & Cultural Heritage grants offer a wide range of opportunities for arts activities in Region 2. Collaborative projects among organizations, schools, artists and/or local governments are encouraged, and building healthy communities that value the arts.
