Eligibility
Artists, arts organizations, nonprofit organizations (schools, youth groups, etc.), cultural heritage groups and local governments may apply.  Individual artists can apply for grants up to $3,000 and organizations can apply for grants up to $6,000.  If your organization is not a 501(c)3 organization you will need to find a fiscal sponsor and fill out a Fiscal Sponsor Agreement, however, if those applying as an individual artist will not need to do this. These grants support three key areas: Arts Activities and Arts Access, Arts Education, and Arts and Cultural Heritage. Please read the guidelines included with the application thoroughly and contact the Region 2 Arts Council with any questions.

Arts & Cultural Heritage Grants are funded through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund passed by Minnesota voters on November 4, 2008 as part of the Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment. Projects funded through Region 2 Arts Council’s Arts & Cultural Heritage grant program should have primary impact on and accessibility to residents of Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen Counties.

After you have received your grant award:

If you have received an Arts and Cultural Heritage (ACH) grant you must use the Legacy Funds Logo, for download here, and the official credit line, below, on all publicity for your project including public service announcements and news releases, brochures, posters, radio announcements, and television news coverage.

Final Report
When you receive your Arts and Cultural Heritage (ACH) grant award, you will also receive a customized final report form. This customized form contains information from your application to help you compare your original goals with your project’s actual outcomes. If you have lost your customized final report form, call or email the R2AC office and we can send you a new one.
