Grants and Deadlines

We recommend that everyone reads our Grant Writing Tips before starting an application.

All grants are limited to artists, organizations, and governmental bodies in the Region 2 Area of Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods and Mahnomen counties.

Arts and Cultural Heritage Grants. Grants of up to $3,000 for artists.  Grants of up to $6,000 for arts organizations, nonprofit organizations, cultural heritage groups and local governments.

Artist Mentor Grants. Grants of up to $600 to provide students in grades 8-12 the opportunity to study art with a practicing professional artist, attend an arts workshop, or a class.  Requests for funding to continue studying with a current instructor will not be considered.

Arts Legacy Designation Grants.  Grants of up to $10,000 to recognize city, county and township governments that support the arts and build healthy communities.

Community Arts Support Grant. Grants from $2,000 to $6,000 to fund the development and sustainability of new and existing arts organizations.

Individual Artist Grants Grants of up to $1000 for artists in the Region 2 area.

Anishinaabe Arts Initiative Grants Grants of up to $1000 for Native American artists in the Region 2 area.

Arts Project Grants Grants of up to $3,000 for 501(c)3 non-profit organizations, community groups, schools, and units of government that are in Region 2.

R2AC/McKnight McKnight Career Development Fellowship Grants for established artists in all disciplines who show commitment to their career.  This 18-month fellowship provides the opportunity for career development experiences that will add depth and advancement to any artistic career.  Two $6,000 grants will be awarded each year.

No Risk Workshop Ongoing grants for artists and groups wishing to offer a workshop.
